THE MOST QUAINT HOTEL WITH A VIEW ON CAPE COD IN WEST YARMOUTH
If you’re looking for a more basic, yet still beautiful resort on Cape Cod then Bayside Resort Hotel is for you.
Bayside Resort Hotel is located in close to beaches, restaurants, shopping, ferries, and various other Cape Cod attractions in West Yarmouth. We came in from the ferry dock in Hyannis and the drive from there to Bayside Resort Hotel was a short 8 minute drive. What makes Bayside Resort Hotel so special is that they’re locally owned and managed with the all amenities of the newest chain hotels plus the look, feel and charm of the Cape.

BAYSIDE RESORT HOTEL REVIEW IN CAPE COD IN WEST YARMOUTH
What amenities does Bayside Resort Hotel offer?
Beach & Firepit
We spent a decent amount of time at the Bayside beach and fire pit area because it was stunning. It’s overlooking the Cape Cod salt marsh overlooking Lewis Bay. There are numerous tables, umbrellas, and lounge chairs for guests to spread out and enjoy a beautiful sunrise or sunset. What’s even cooler is natural is truly in your backyard at Bayside. It’s home to two rare and protected bird species, the Northern Harrier and Least Tern, and two endangered reptiles, the Diamond-Backed Terrapin and Eastern Box Turtle — so be sure to have your eyes peeled for them.
Indoor & outdoor pool
The outdoor pool overlooks Lewis Bay and is right above the beach and firepot area. It’s a great place to enjoy the sun and salty air without having to leave the hotel. It features a sundeck, beach volleyball, corn hole, and more! Bayside even has a poolside Tiki bar that’s open seasonally. The bar offers a full service bar featuring tropical and frozen drinks along with a light menu. Enjoy your favorite cocktail at an umbrella table or lounge chair while basking in the sun or taking a dip in the pool.
The indoor pool is open year round with a water temperature of 84 degrees. It’s perfect for relaxing after a hot day outside. It features an oversized hot tub and men’s and women’s dry saunas. Grab a drink at the Moby Dick Pub right across from it and spend an evening relaxing.
What do the rooms look like?
The rooms have a touch of that Cape Cod feel with star fish on the bed spread and pillows and even photographs of ocean birds and more. Bayside Resort Hotel offers whirlpool suites, deluxe rooms, and even bay view rooms. We stayed in a duluxe double queen room and it was very spacious and included a little table we had dinner at one evening. The beds were soft and comfortable and the rooms were very clean. I now this seems super small, but I love a hotel that has liquid creamer for their coffee in the mornings and they had regular and vanilla flavors.
Moby Dick Pub
This cozy pub is themed after an old Cape Cod fishermen’s bar and it’s SO. COOL. It features a full service bar with a pub style menu. You can join Jack Kelly’s Ceiling of Fame Club by pinning a dollar to the ceiling of this awesome pub! The pub is actually inside the Bayside Resort Hotel right across from the indoor pool. It’s absolutely a must visit while staying at the hotel. Apparently there is over $15,000 in the entire pub, how wild is that?! We absolutely grabbed our dollars and wrote our messages on them then pinned them to the wall to haunt the walls forever, haha! What would you write on your dollar?
Overall, we had a wonderful time at Bayside Resort Hotel and would stay again the next time we visit the Cape. The central location made it very easy to pop over to different restaurants and even to the Hy-Line Cruises ferry dock!
Coffee near by
Old King’s Coffeehouse was our final stop on Cape Cod on our way to Boston to fly out of Massachusetts. It was right across the street from Bayside Resort, where we stayed for the last evening on the Cape. I love a good coffee shop that has freshly baked goods and treats, which Old King’s Coffeehouse absolutely did. Their cinnamon sugar doughnut holes were YUMMY! In addition to bakery items they have traditional breakfast sandwiches, breakfast burritos, yogurt, and even overnight oats. I ordered my usual — vanilla latte with oat milk and it was great too! They have plenty of tables inside and out and their togo line goes by fairly quick.
Have you ever been to the Cape before? If so, where did you stay?
