EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE BEST BEACHSIDE RESORT ON CAPE COD IN WEST DENNIS
When you’re looking for a place to stay on Cape Cod near Dennis or on the Cape in general, look no further than Lighthouse Inn.
Situated on nine secluded oceanfront acres, this resort offers a private sandy beach, heated pool, tennis courts, family activities and a full service restaurant with panoramic ocean views. It’s truly a great place to relax and just soak in the sea breeze. Lighthouse Inn is welcoming guests for their 83rd season and Bass River Light is 160 years old — which is pretty cool. As a travel blogger, I try to stay at hotels and resorts that have a rich history and Lighthouse Inn isn’t lacking in that department. Be sure to read all about it here. This resort will take you to a time gone by…secluded and relaxing, with refreshing ocean breezes to rejuvenate your spirit.

The rooms at Lighthouse Inn
Lighthouse Inn offers many different options when it comes rooms — classic, oceanfront, cottages, and king suites. We stayed in a classic style room which is their most basic option, but it’s absolutely not basic. Our room was extremely roomy and even included a separate room with a twin bed! My favorite part though, was the balcony with chairs to enjoy that sweet ocean smell in the air. I had my coffee out on the balcony a couple of times and it was great. I’m kind of a sucker for balconies… I just love a good sunrise or sunset on a balcony. Don’t you?
The classic rooms run a little under $300 a night which is pretty great for everything else that comes with the property like the: private beach (beach chairs & towels are provided.), an outdoor heated swimming pool, tennis courts, a fire pit, a playground, shuffleboard, miniature golf, volleyball, a game room, and a lounge.
The Waterfront Restaurant at Lighthouse Inn
I highly recommend stopping by for a meal at The Waterfront Restaurant while staying at Lighthouse Inn. Ana and I actually ate their for dinner twice and thoroughly enjoyed the food, the service was great, and the view of the ocean was gorgeous! Lighthouse Inn is on a private beach, remember, so you look out the window of The Waterfront Restaurant and BAM… ocean!
Now let’s get into the important stuff — the food!
The first evening we visited we had the sweetest server who actually recommended the fish sandwich, which is what Ana ended up ordering. It tasted fresh and was super crispy and delicious. The fries were the same too — which I think is a big deal. Most places have pretty mediocre fries in my opinion. I ordered the lobster tacos and oh mama, they were extra yum! Of course I had to get lobster something while on vacation on the Cape. We don’t have lobster like that in Texas... that’s for sure. The lobster tasted very fresh and the sauce they paired with it basically made me want to lick the plate clean. Not only was the food good, but the drinks were pretty dang tasty too.
I’m a sucker for Moscow mules so when I saw they had one with strawberry I needed to try it! Thank goodness I did because I’m going to be trying to recreate this drink from now on to have at home. It was the perfect amount of strawberry — not too much of a strawberry taste but still enough to make a difference. Ana ended up ordering something strawberry too, a frozen strawberry lemonade. I do recommend sticking to the drinks on their drink menu because I ended up ordering a margarita another night and it was okay. Ana and I joked that because we’re from Texas we are extra picky with margaritas so that could have been the case too. We had them remake it too and it was better but not great, in my opinion. I wished I would have just ordered that strawberry Moscow mule again because… oh my gosh yummy.
The following evening Ana and I tried dishes completely different from what we had before. Ana ordered the Cape Cod Quesadilla which she said was good (again, we’re from Texas so it’s hard to judge Tex-Mex or Mexican food) and I ordered the New England Clam Chowder which you can get in a bread bowl and a house salad. They were both pretty great, especially during a rainy day Cape Cod day!
What are the amenities at Lighthouse Inn?
As I mentioned before, the amenities at Lighthouse Inn are not lacking. There is a private beach (beach chairs & towels are provided.), an outdoor heated swimming pool, tennis courts, a fire pit, a playground, shuffleboard, miniature golf, volleyball, a game room, and a lounge. We took advantage of the fire pit after a nice dinner and of course the private beach at sunset. Oh my gosh I feel like these pictures don’t do the sunsets at Lighthouse Inn justice because they were absolutely stunning over the blue ocean. Absolutely take advantage of the private beach because the beach next door is not free ($25 a day), doesn’t have chairs, nor do they have a place to grab yummy cocktails. I truly felt like Lighthouse Inn had everything for their guests to sit and stay a while and ultimately have an experience.
Ready to book your stay at Lighthouse Inn? haha! I’m ready to go back ASAP
