THE MOST UNIQUE RESORT NEAR FREDERICKSBURG
Nestled right outside Fredericksburg, TX is one of the most unique places I’ve ever stayed called Blue Skies Resort! It’s the perfect place to relax and experience the beauty of Texas. I had seen campers like this before but never thought I would have the opportunity to stay in one and oh my goodness, y’all. Every retro Shasta camper has a unique and fun name, which I thought added some cool character. We stayed in Miss Mary Longbottom! It immediately reminded me of Neville Longbottom from Harry Potter, haha!
The property is on a vast amount of land and when you first arrive you’ll put in a special gate code given to you upon arrival. I really liked that the entire property was gated to add an extra layer of safety.

What were the insides of the campers like?
Every camper is similar but has it’s own unique properties as well. Miss Mary Longbottom was trimmed in yellow and sea foam decor. I loved that the leather booth and the Keurig coffee machine matched the outside color of the camper. Y’all! The attention to detail in these was unreal. Each camper even had a record player with records, which was really cool for the retro vibe. Mom and I played records and chilled on the bed planning our days in Fredericksburg. I seriously felt like I was in a movie or something while hanging out at Blue Skies! To be honest, I was also surprised by how many features the cozy camper had. You can see them all here.
What’s the bathroom situation?
Okay, so probably my favorite part about Blue Skies Resort are the bathrooms. I know… I never thought I would say my bathroom would be my favorite part of a place but you guys… my mom and I were obsessed. We couldn’t stop talking about how amazing these bathrooms were. Because the campers are on the smaller side, Blue Skies has private giant bathrooms for each of their guests in the main building when you drive in. The same key code you use on your camper is the code you use to get into the bathroom. Look at the detail of these bathrooms. They even had a pink toilet, A PINK TOILET!! I want a pink toilet in my home! haha!
The outdoor shower was a really neat touch too. It’s HUGE yet still very private. PROTIP: put all your luggage in the bathroom to give you more room in the camper. They eve have a luggage rack and bench in the bathroom just for that reason. See all the bathroom features here.
Don’t worry, there’s a small toilet in the camper too in case you have to go during the night and don’t want to walk to the main building!
Does Blue Skies Resort have amenities?
Yes they do! Some pretty great ones too. The property has a spacious gathering area with couches, chairs, outdoor wood burning fireplace, and a propane grill. This gathering area is connected to the private bathrooms too, so if you have to go it’s right next door. Additionally the property has a beautiful gated pool where you can enjoy the sunset while relaxing in the pool!
Are the sunsets really worth it?
YES YES YES & YES! Y’all, these sunsets were incredible!
I think one of my favorite parts about staying at Blue Skies Resorts were the sunrises and sunsets outside the camper. They have a nice turf yard in front of each camper with chairs for you to enjoy! I grabbed a blanket in the morning and enjoyed my coffee with the sun rising and then in the evenings mom and I cracked open a bottle of Fredericksburg wine
This was such a cool opportunity and such a fun experience for my mom and I. We drank wine, watched the sunrises and sunsets, and chatted by the pool. It would also be a great place for a romantic getaway because of how cozy it gets in the camper.
