WHY YOU NEED TO STAY AT THE ELVIS PRESLEY HOUSE WHILE IN WACO, TEXAS

What it’s like staying at the iconic Elvis House in Waco, Texas

In the 1950s, when Elvis Presley was the hottest personality on Earth, he visited this iconic Waco home to unwind. This home was built in 1924 and has been reborn as a vacation rental decorated in Elvis-era furnishings. It’s said not to have changed much since Elvis graced its halls. The location of the vacation rental is great, too, being close to the iconic Cameron Park, Magnolia Silos, and near Baylor University.

The Elvis House was built by the Fadal family in 1924 but in the 1950s became known as Elvis Presley’s “home away from home.” The vacation home has been updated with recessed lighting, stainless steel appliances, and a well-equipped kitchen, which we used a couple of times! Waco has the most charming vacation rentals and hotels and this is one you’ll absolutely want to stay in because of its added story and theming.

From the moment you walk into the Elvis house, you’re greeted by the big man himself in numerous ways, from the Elvis pillows to the entire shelf of Elvis memorabilia. They even have a bar within the vacation rental if you’re looking at hosting or just making a drink with friends. There’s the Elvis living room and then a more formal living room with the TV and actually fewer Elvis pieces, which I did think was nice.

The main living room area is where we spent most of our downtime in the house because it was HUGE, and that’s where the TV was. They did have Elvis pictures and little trinkets in this room as well,l but they were a little more subtle. Beside this living room, there was a formal dining room that seated about six people if you wanted to have dinner, etc., with a bigger group of people. This place was truly massive for not looking that big from the outside of the house.

When you walk in from the back, which is where we parked you’ll enter the house to the kitchen, which was pretty good sized with tons of counter space if you’re looking to prep for a dinner. What was super cute was the host provided us with ingredients to make The Elvis sandwich which is peanut butter and banana on white bread. I’m a sucker for a theme, and this vacation rental really went all out!

What are the rooms like at The Elvis House?

There are three fairly good-sized bedrooms in The Elvis House that are all themed and decorated nicely especially the Elvis & Anita room.

The Elvis & Anita Room

This room was said to be the room that Elvis and Anita actually stayed in while visiting their friends who owned this house at the time. In the room you’ll find pictures of Elvis and Anita and more upscale decor. I slept in this room, and the bed was super comfy and definitely the best one, in my opinion haha!

The Dana & Janice Room

The other two rooms were lovely and decorated cutely with bits and bobs on the shelves along with photos on the walls, etc. My favorite bedroom after The Elvis and Anita room would definitely have to be the Janice with the yellow bedding.

Overall, we had such a lovely time staying at the Elvis House, and now I can say I’ve stayed at the house Elvis had stayed in, which is pretty freaking cool — and you can too here.
