THE BEST PLACES TO GO & THINGS TO DO IN WACO

There are plenty of things to do in Waco for all different types of people! There’s definitely a place for everyone. Below are some of my favorite places to go!

Magnolia Silos

Magnolia Market and the Silos Baking Co. are why most people head to Waco. Get the full details on what the silos are like and some tips and tricks on how to avoid crowds in my full post here.

Cameron Park

I spent A LOT of hours in Cameron park during my time in Waco. It’s one of the largest municipal parks in Texas, if you can believe it. There’s amazing running and bike trails along with two disc golf courses. Cameron park is a great place for a stroll by the river or a nap in your hammock. You definitely won’t regret checking it out.

Cameron Park Zoo

Cameron Park Zoo is a must if you have young children or have a strong love of animals! It’s a pretty big zoo and tickets are only ten bucks!! Check out their website for more information on when you can feed the giraffes, attend cool events like Brew in the Zoo, and more.

Mammoth Site

Take a trip to the Waco Mammoth site to see mammoths and more! Designated as a National Monument in 2015, there are numerous trails on the 108 acre area for hiking and taking in the scenery while also seeing the only known remains of a herd of Columbian Mammoths.

Mayborn Museum

If you like museums, history, and fun, then the Mayborn Museum is for you! Be sure to check out the historic village out back and see what traveling exhibit is visiting as well.

Farmers Market

The Waco farmers market is still one of my favorite places to go on Saturday mornings! You can find delicious breakfast burritos, coffee, lemonade, donuts, plants, wine, and more! Be sure to get there fairly early because a lot of booths run out of things you’ll definitely want to buy.

Hippodrome

The Waco Hippodrome is a theater downtown! It’s basically Waco’s very own Alamo Drafthouse or Movie Tavern. They have great drinks and food. There is a bar on the second floor and just recently they put in a cute rooftop bar!

Bonnies Greenhouse

Bonnie’s Greenhouse is a place for plant and photography lovers! The individuals that work there are so kind and helpful. I highly recommend checking out Bonnies if you’ve got some time to kill.

Baylor University

I may be a little biased as a Baylor alumna, but I think everyone should take a walk across campus while visiting Waco. The campus is absolutely gorgeous and perfect for taking photos. After you’ve walked across campus, be sure to head over to Common Grounds for some coffee. Read my full post on places to eat in Waco here.

Suspension Bridge

The suspension bridge is a monumental place in Waco! I remember my dad taking us to it while visiting Waco for soccer tournaments. It’s such a pretty place to go for a nice stroll with coffee or for a cute photoshoot.

Waco Escape Rooms

The Waco Escape rooms are AWESOME! I’ve been to a couple of different escape rooms and I’m always comparing them to the Waco Escape Rooms. They have numerous room options and the staff is amazing! The rooms late in the day are normally open the same day for booking. I highly recommend checking one out while visiting Waco.

Waco Wetlands

The Waco wetlands are one of Waco’s gems. I know, I’ve said Waco has a lot of gems by now, but isn’t that making you want to get in your car and drive to Waco? The wetlands are pretty incredible and beautiful for taking pictures or just enjoying nature.
