I LOVE BLAZERS!

Everyone knows that, but it wasn’t always the case.

I got my first blazer in high school for a prose and poetry competition that was not the cutest. Blazers always reminded me of the “cold corporate business world” where no one wore any color. Haha, before y’all start annihilating me, this was all in my bed. Now having worked in the business world I know that’s not always the case haha. BUT that’s what I thought back then, so when I joined a business fraternity in college and was required to wear a blazer I was so bummed. I didn’t know blazers came in all different colors and styles. Y’all I must have been living under a rock or something because this isn’t a new thing. ANYWAY, I snagged my first beautiful camel colored blazer from J. Crew Factory and my love a blazers began. I wanted blazers in bright and bold colors because it felt like a wonderful way to be business and FUN! I then was known for my fun colored blazers in my fraternity and would always wear one on job interviews to be remembered. I mean, who wouldn’t remember the girl in the pink blazer! haha I totally feel like I was probably the Elle Woods of interviews. Oh well, she went to law school, y’all and I got the jobs!

Once I entered the world of marketing, we really didn’t wear blazers. We basically wore jeans, t-shirts, and vans every single day! It was AWESOME, but I couldn’t help but be a little sad that my HUGE collection of blazers were just sitting in my closet collecting dust. That’s when I decided to say screw blazers JUST being for business. I’m going to incorporate these gorgeous pieces into my everyday outfits. I decided to pair blazers with:

I feel like it INSTANTLY started making my outfits look more high fashion and classy, sometimes even trendy and artsy. Blazers can be a little pricy but I listed some of my favorite places to get them and a couple of my favorites. Additionally, check out your local thrift store! The brown one I’m featuring and the black and white checkered one at the bottom where thrift store finds. They weren’t my size but made for the perfect oversized blazer.
