WHY VERA BRADLEY IS NOW MAKING BAGS OUT OF RECYCLED COTTON THIS MONTH AND FOR THE FUTURE
This month Vera Bradley is doing something BIG!
Hold on to your hats, folks because Vera Bradley is expanding even more into sustainability with recycled cotton! Sustainability means A LOT to me and being able to work with brands and buy from brands who feel this was too is tremendously important. What I thought was even cooler was the story behind their recycled cotton!
How Vera Bradley makes their recycled cotton
Their recycled cotton comes primarily from scraps gathered on the factory floor! How wild is that. Think about all the scraps they probably had. Vera Bradley said,
“hey let’s use these!”
Then the reclaimed fabric is cleaned and shredded, then blended with conventional cotton and re-spun into new sustainable yarn. SO. FREAKING. COOL.
Now that I’ve basically cried over how much I love Vera Bradley and their mission to sustainability, let’s talk about these new PATTERNS and SOLIDS they just launched!
Rainforest Canopy Pattern
I’m carrying this gorgeous crossbody bag in the new pattern Rainforest Canopy which also incorporates their new solid colors as well! I really like that the solid options Vera Bradley has can be paired with anything in the Rainforest Canopy pattern because they use the same fabric! This pattern is just so aesthetically pleasing to me with the colors and prints incorporated. It was also the perfect pattern to bring to the Butterfly Garden. Don’t you agree? If you look close enough in the bottom right photo you can see a butterfly that wanted to be in the photo too. So cute!
Oh man Vera Bradley outdid themselves with this line, I swear. There are so many styles for this new recycled cotton line in Rainforest Canopy! Here are some of my favorite pieces from the collection!

Say hello to Vera Bradley’s recycled cotton solids!!
Y’all, I’m actually over the mood about the fact Vera Bradley has these beautiful solids that are recycled cotton. My heart is screaming because I’m just so dang happy to love a brand that ultimately loves what I love, our planet. Okay, let’s get into these gorgeous styles. I think the main thing I thought of when I saw them was the minimalistic vibe. They’re so chic and sophisticated and most importantly SOFT! Holy cow these bags are soft! I was literally sitting there hugging my campus backpack because it was so dang soft! Andrew was like “uhhhhh what are you doing Tanna?!” I just couldn’t help it! This line gets me in the feels and it so dang soft too. Best of both worlds, that’s for sure!
Alright let’s talk about these color options Vera Bradley has. They are seriously going to cater to EVERYONE! Don’t believe me? Just wait… well actually get to scrollin’ because I’m sharing all the bright and bold colors below with some of my favorite pieces in each color.

I absolutely love bright and fun colors, I mean look at my hair… BUT I do love a classic black piece and really like that Vera Bradley incorporated black into this recycled cotton solids line! Sometimes you just need a good black bag to make your outfit chic and now I can grab it in a couple of my favorite Vera Bradley Styles.

The Lana Utility Backpack
Y’all! I just about died when I found out Vera Bradley worked with Lana Condor from To All The Boys movies to create this chic and stylish Utility backpack that is part of the recycled cotton collection! She is seriously one of my favorite celebrities because she’s so sweet and just humble! The bag she designed is mostly black but then has a stripe of color down the back and bottom and then incorporates a pretty lavender color on the buckles and other details on the bag. What do you think about this design?
