This spine-chilling city is only a 45-minute drive from Boston and well worth it, especially during the fall months leading to Halloween. Salem is known for its rich maritime history, as being the birthplace of the National Guard and for the infamous Witchcraft Trials of 1692. Salem is also a vibrant, pedestrian-friendly City where its residents, and over a million tourists annually, can easily visit historic architecture, unique attractions, world-famous museums, and an eclectic mix of shops and dining options. These days, it’s a popular spot for picnicking, people watching, and taking a break from all the witch-themed activities. During October, the park is decorated with pumpkins and other Halloween-themed decorations perfect for spooktober pics!
