NEW ORLEANS & THE SUGAR BOWL

Andrew and I decided to make a spur of the moment trip to New Orleans for the Baylor bowl game in the Sugar Bowl! It was one heck of a trip because we decided to leave Houston on January 1 at 8:00 a.m. after a wild NYE! I know, crazy. We drove 5 hours there, went to the Sugar Bowl and then drove 5 hours back! haha! Well, we did stuff in between of course but to say our trip was jam packed would be an understatement.

NEW ORLEANS & THE SUGAR BOWL

Royal House

When we arrived in NOLA, we were STARVING! I kept saying how I wanted to eat at restaurants with balconies to really experience NOLA and of course, people watch over the railing!! haha the people watching is PRIME in NOLA, because you NEVER know what you’re going to see in the streets! Of course, we ordered charbroiled oysters, which were delish! I love me some oysters, especially from NOLA. Andrew ordered the alligator poboy and really liked it. He was skeptical at first but said it def tasted like chicken! haha! I ordered the french onion soup and it was great too! I definitely wished the bowl was a lot bigger because I scarfed that bbad boy down!

Tableau

Again, I knew I wanted a cute brunch on a balcony so Andrew jumped on Yelp and found Tableau! We made a reservation for brunch the day we headed back to Houston.Tableau isn’t off Bourbon, which honestly, I was okay with because it was right off Jackson Square! That area is more about the culture of New Orleans, to me anyway! If the decor wasn’t BEAUTIFUL ENOUGH, the food was absolutely delicious too. I mean, let’s be real, most food in NOLA is amazing, but this… oh my. The extra sauce they put on my crepe and the amazing special Andrew had with the jalapeño cornbread made the food truly 100%! To be honest, we didn’t get anything special or crazy for NOLA, but they truly perfected their fruit crepe and their red beans and rice. They added some sausage to their beans and rice and of course that delicious cornbread. Additionally, the service was amazing and the views were incredible!

I decided to vlog the entire experience from waking up early and driving to NOLA, our hotel room tour, eating in the French Quarter, going to the bowl game, our drive back, and more!!

Have you been to NOLA before??? I really enjoyed being there when it wasn’t boiling hot!
