WHAT IT'S LIKE TO STAY AT DISNEY'S CORONADO SPRINGS RESORT

First off, Coronado Springs Resort is HUGE! The main tower is where everything important is: checkin counter, restaurants, gift shops, etc. and it’s beautiful! It’s hard to believe this is a moderate resort according to Disney.

DISNEY'S CORONADO SPRINGS RESORT REVIEW

From the moment you arrive at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, you’ll be swept away to a romantic paradise like no other. The resort is split into four areas: the main tower where you walk in, the Casitas, Ranchos and Cabanas. We stayed in the Ranchos which are southern and Texas themed, which was funny because we are from Texas and definitely did not want to be in that area haha! What’s really beautiful is that the resort is on a beautiful lake with bridges you walk over to get to your specific area if you’re not staying in the tower. They even have a restaurant on the lake called Three Bridges Bar and Grill at Villa del Lago. Overall, this resort is at first glance — beautiful and gets even prettier as you explore it.

WHAT ARE THE ROOMS LIKE?

The rooms were very comfortable! As someone who frequently stays at Disney value resorts, this was definitely an upgrade! You could tell just from the bathroom area being nicer, there being a chair in the corner by the window, and even the coffee and water area felt more upscale. Again, I love a good value resort and think they’re great but when you can get a moderate Disney resort for about the same price as a value, DO IT!

WHAT DINING OPTIONS ARE AVAILABLE AT THE HOTEL?

When it comes to dining options there are a ton at Coronado Springs Resort. From casual dining to upscale cuisine, this resort truly celebrates Spanish exploration and artistry along with Disney creative tradition. I will say… that when we stayed at Coronado we didn’t explore many of the dining options because we were only there for two nights and went for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween party when that was a thing. Basically what I’m saying is we got up in the morning to rope drop parks and then stayed until they closed which meant most dining options were closed when we arrived back at the hotel. However we did take advantage of the food court style dining called El Mercado de Coronado. There are numerous food stalls or stations from pizza, chicken and potatoes, burgers, and more! We hit up the food court in the morning before we rope dropped a couple of parks for breakfast sandwiches and Mickey waffle meals which include: 3 Mickey waffles, two slices of bacon, and two sausage links for $10. Not too bad for Disney World am I right? I loved that I could grab some breakfast there early before heading to the parks. They’re open from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. so we took advantage of late night snacks as well after long park days. As far as the other dining options go — you can see them all here. I’ve heard good things about Toledo which is a tapas, steak & seafood place! As previously mentioned, Three Bridges Bar and Grill at Villa del Lago is the gorgeous restaurant hovering above Lago Dorado. Next time we stay at Coronado Springs, I’m definitely going to try it! I mean look at those amazing views. Regarding everything else, I’m sure they’re great but I’ve yet to try them!

WHAT HOTEL AMENITIES ARE THERE AT CORONADO SPRINGS?

PANCHITO’S GIFTS & SUNDRIES

We hit up this Disney gift shop A LOT for only being at Disney for two days. Did you know that when you’re at the parks you can purchase souvineers and have them delivered to your Disney resort gift shop? We did this numerous times and of course purchased a new pair of ears and rice krispie Mickey’s!

POOLS

I’m kicking myself for not experiencing the insane pool at Coronado Springs because y’all… it looks so COOL! It’s called The Lost City of Cibola Pool and as you can see from the photos.. it is incredible! The Lost City of Cibola pool’s centerpiece is a 50-foot pyramid where weary explorers can revive themselves in the waters streaming down its stone steps. A 123-foot-long waterslide featuring a spitting Jaguar spirit animal makes for a fierce ride too! The Dig Site also boasts the largest hot tub on Walt Disney World Resort property, with room for 22 people, which is pretty cool the biggest hot tub is at a moderate Disney resort and not a deluxe one. In addition to The Lost City of Cibola pool, there are 3 leisure pools located at each settlement—the Casitas, Ranchos and Cabanas. Take the plunge and cool down or simply lounge the day away on deck while catching some rays.

CAMPFIRES

Gather around the campfire as the sun goes down for old-fashioned fun as you roast marshmallows by a crackling fire. I love that Disney Resorts have fun little activities such as these. I mean who doesn’t love a good campfire right? The campfire is located at the Dig Site 5pm - 6:30pm - 7 days a week.

MOVIES UNDER THE STARS

Come for the Campfire – Stay for a Movie! Cozy up for complimentary outdoor screenings of popular Disney films immediately following the campfire fun! Watch beloved Disney films at complimentary outdoor screenings near the Lost City of Cibola pool. Movies Under the Stars is a great option for those not wanting to spend all day at the parks or for those spending a good chunk of time at Disney World and wanting something a little different to do in the evening.

COMPLIMENTARY BUS TRANSPORTATION

Complimentary bus transportation to and from all Disney theme parks and water parks is available for all guests staying at Disney Resort Hotels. Buses also run to Disney Springs area and Disney′s Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Course. The main bus stop at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort is located in front of the El Centro building. Three additional stops shuttle Guests between the Casitas, Ranchos and Cabanas suites. We weren’t too far from our bus stop at the Ranchos so we used that one the most!
