WHAT IT'S LIKE TO STAY AT DISNEY'S ALL-STAR MOVIES RESORT
Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort is categorized as a Disney Value Resort but y’all it is so much more. I always laugh at the “value” resorts because they’re basically a Hilton equivalent — just the bottom tier at Disney World. Overall, the experience is fabulous minus the only way to travel around the parks being the Disney Bus Service. If you don’t mind that, then you’re going to love it here. I like the Disney busses to and from the parks; however I love having other transportation options such as: the Disney Skyliner, Disney Boats, & the Disney Monorail. In this blog post, I’ll be breaking down all the reasons you should stay at All-Star Movies and what they have to offer.
WHAT IT'S LIKE TO STAY AT DISNEY'S ALL-STAR MOVIES RESORT
A LITTLE ABOUT THE HOTEL
Imagine yourself sharing the spotlight with some of your favorite Disney friends, as you headline your very own all-star adventure. There are three All-Star hotels: All-Star Sports, All-Star Movies, and All-Star Music. I’ve only ever stayed at Disney’s All-Star Movies but I’ve walked the properties of them all and have to say that Disney’s All-Star Movies seems like the best — especially with the Fantasia pool! Disney’s All-Star Movies salutes the legends of Disney films—from the dotted pups of 101 Dalmatians to the playful toys of Andy's Room— with whimsical, larger-than-life décor. The decor or giant statues at this resort is kind of incredible! It’s probably my favorite resort for this, specifically, over Art of Animation which is a close second.
WHAT ARE VALUE RESORT HOTEL ROOMS LIKE?
The value resort rooms have all been upgraded and honestly I love how they did it. Every double room includes a Murphy bed that folds down from the wall but when it’s upright it provides a table for guests. There was plenty of coffee and creamer (you can grab more at the food court) which I used every morning while getting ready. If you need coffee you can call the front desk and request more or swing by and get some. We loved having a fridge in the room too for our apples and other snacks. The only thing I wasn’t a fan of was that the blankets were super thin. There wasn’t an actual comforter on the beds and we like to sleep with it pretty chilly so I would definitely ask for an additional blanket or bring your own.
HOW ARE THE BATHROOMS AT THE RESORTS?
The bathrooms were especially roomy at POP Century! I loved that they had a sliding door separating the vanity area from the main room. This was perfect for when I was up at the butt crack of dawn getting ready for park days while Andrew or my friends were sleeping in. The door was able to block all of the light and I was able to do my makeup in great lighting. Once in the bathroom, there’s a door separating the shower and toilet from the vanity area. Also, when you slide the bathroom door there’s a full body mirror which I ALWAYS appreciate in a hotel room. For real though, every hotel needs to have these in their rooms. In addition to the nice bathrooms, they provide their guests with awesome hair products & body wash. I love the brands they use and I hardly ever like hotel products.
WORLD PREMIERE FOOD COURT
Something I actually love about the value resorts is that they all have food courts. There are numerous food stalls or stations from pizza, chicken and potatoes, burgers, and more! We hit up the food court in the morning before we rope dropped a couple of parks for Mickey waffle meals which include: 3 Mickey waffles, two slices of bacon, and two sausage links for $10. Not too bad for Disney World am I right? I loved that I could grab some breakfast there early before heading to the parks. They’re open from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. so we took advantage of late night snacks as well after long park days.
SILVER SCREENS SPIRITS POOL BAR
In addition to the food court, All-Star Movies has a bar right outside the Fantasia Pool called the Silver Screen Spirits Pool Bar. They have drinks for all ages from delicious Piña CoLAVAS which is: Bacardí Raspberry Rum blended with flavors of Coconut, Pineapple and Raspberry Purée to non-alcoholic beverages such as the EARidescent Sip-a-bration which is: Minute Maid® Premium Lemonade and Fruity Strawberry Punch, served in a souvenir 50th Celebration Cup with a surprise Character and a little bit of magic! Pretty fun right? Even value resorts at Disney go hard!
WHAT HOTEL AMENITIES ARE THERE AT ALL-STAR MOVIES RESORT?
DONALD’S DOUBLE FEATURE
We hit up this Disney gift shop A LOT during our stays at All-Star Movies! I actually purchased a pair of Mickey Mouse Crocs at this gift shop among numerous other things such as a new pair of ears and rice krispie Mickey’s! Another cool perk about the Disney Resort gift shops is that you can shop in the parks and then have your souvenirs delivered to your resort to be picked up.
POOLS
There are two pools at Disney’s All-Star Movies with the main one being the Fantasia Pool. It’s pretty freaking epic with Sorcerer Mickey on top shooting water into the main pool. This pool is basically the centerpiece of the entire resort as you have to walk past it to get into the main building and because of how incredible it is. Additionally, there’s the Duck Pond pool which is right outside the Mighty Ducks rooms at the resort. It’s designed to resemble a hockey rink and this 105,438-gallon pool is the perfect place for families to relax and unwind before or after a visit to the parks.
MOVIES UNDER THE STARS
Come for the Campfire – Stay for a Movie! Cozy up for complimentary outdoor screenings of popular Disney films! Watch beloved Disney films at complimentary outdoor screenings at The Reel Spot—right outside of World Premiere Food Court! Movies Under the Stars is a great option for those not wanting to spend all day at the parks or for those spending a good chunk of time at Disney World and wanting something a little different to do in the evening.
COMPLIMENTARY BUS TRANSPORTATION
Complimentary bus transportation to and from all Disney theme parks and water parks is available for all guests staying at Disney Resort Hotels. Buses also run to Disney Springs area and Disney′s Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Course. The main bus stop at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort is located in front of the El Centro building. Three additional stops shuttle Guests between the Casitas, Ranchos and Cabanas suites. We weren’t too far from our bus stop at the Ranchos so we used that one the most!
